Et si j’avais tort ? J’en parle j’apprends
This guide aims to raise young people’s awareness of issues related to radicalization leading to violence. It is built around five major themes representing factors that can lead to radicalization leading to violence.
Radicalization leading to violence has its roots in several social phenomena. Preventing radicalization leading to violence is not only about intervening with people who are vulnerable, on the verge of becoming involved, or already involved in a process of radicalization leading to violence: it is also about acting upstream, anticipating and defusing social pressures, and curbing the factors that may contribute to the radicalization of individuals, whatever their age.
This guide is part of that goal; it was designed to offer teachers and youth workers working with secondary school students concrete tools and practical activities to strengthen the resilience of these young people.
It does not claim to be exhaustive or to offer a complete set of tools to counter radicalization leading to violence; rather, it is a complementary prevention tool which, like other initiatives, aims to contribute to better coexistence, positive intergroup relations, the expression of critical thinking and the questioning of one’s own assumptions: together, these are prerequisites for environmental and psychosocial protection against radicalization leading to violence.
